If you will apply some common sense strategies when it comes to your battery, you can prolong the life. Make sure you don’t use to many accessories or for to long while the engine is not running.
Keep the terminals clean and tight and periodically have the charging system tested to make sure it is performing up to specs.
Also, remember the batteries do have acid in them, be really careful to not spill it or get it on you or any painted surfaces.
